ARI – the original ARIETE oil seals
ARIETE’s ARI fork oil seal ring differs from all others available on the market in the high quality and uniqueness of the material used to make it: carboxyl elastomer XNBR.
In fact, this compound has exceptional characteristics of resistance to abrasion, temperature and oils with special additives used in modern forks for motorcycles and scooters.
The fork seal working longitudinally on the stem is subjected to considerable abrasive action, which combined with the heat generated by sliding causes a process of deterioration of the rubber part that is already put to the test by the chemical aggression of oils with related additives.
Normal nitrile rubber NBR, usually used by all oil seal manufacturers, is a poor choice determined by cost-effectiveness factors. Ariete’s Technical Staff, after extensive studies and experiments and supported by the Company’s sixty years of experience, has adopted for this line of oil seals the carboxyl elastomer XNBR, which compared with the normal NBR type has the following performances:
The sophisticated production technologies employed allow for highly competitive prices despite the fact that the cost of XNBR elastomer is almost double that of the regular type allowing the Ariete Customer to have a very high quality product that meets the most demanding expectations at a fair price.
